An importer built around small producers
The portfolio is deliberately narrow. Rather than carrying as many labels as possible, Vin Sauvage works with a smaller list of producers whose wines might otherwise never reach a Nevada account.

Why small-lot wine needs a different approach
A producer making a few hundred cases a year cannot compete for attention against high-volume brands through a standard wholesale catalog, so the relationship has to be more direct.
That means visiting cellars, tasting through vintages, and making allocation decisions based on which accounts will actually represent the wine well, not just which order came in first.

Operating from Las Vegas
The South Decatur Boulevard location was chosen for logistics as much as anything — proximity to major shipping routes makes it practical to serve accounts across the region.
Even so, the day-to-day work leans more toward relationship management than warehouse operations: producer calls, account visits, and allocation planning take up most of the week.
What guides the portfolio
A short list of principles behind which producers get added and how they are represented.
Direct relationships
Producers are worked with directly rather than through layered import intermediaries whenever possible.
Honest allocation
Limited-quantity wines are allocated based on fit with an account, not simply first-come ordering.
Careful handling
Temperature and shipping conditions are tracked from cellar to warehouse, not assumed to be fine by default.
Trade-first focus
The business is built to serve restaurant and retail accounts, not direct-to-consumer sales.
